Project Overview: Design and artworking of over 350 information icons for a new marine navigation device from industry leading Raymarine.

Client: Raymarine, the world leader in marine electronics, develops and manufactures the most comprehensive range of electronic equipment for the recreational boating and light commercial marine markets.

The Brief: Raymarine wanted to update their navigation / information icons for their new navigation device – the ST70+. Raymarine have over 350 navigational icons, all of which needed to be revamped as well as some new icons which had to be created. Visually the client wanted the icons to have a Web 2.0 look eg with a glossy and modern feel.

The Solution: The sheer volume of icons needed required an organized and methodical approach. Recognition first established a style. Once this had been approved by the client, it was applied across all icons. The design style was clear, stylish and curved.
